Local sports radio this a.m.- former UGA QB DJ Shockley said everyone needs to slow their SEC roll on aTm and watch out for LSU. Said (contrary to what many UGA fans say) that Mett was poised to be the starter in Athens prior to his bar room incident. Praised his arm and ability to make every throw. Said he will come in to Athens with extra motivation/incentive. Said Cam will make a huge difference in the O production and that we will ALWAYS play great D. Said he is as worried about us as much as he Clemson and USCe. "Their #12 ranking is a slap in the face."

The reason I posted the comments is the fact that it came from a naturally biased UGA man that played in the SEC & NFL. I trust his QB & offensive evaluations.

As I've said before it all starts at the line. This is going to be the best line we've had in a while. And a competent OC.

I Remember DJ coming in back in 98 and making some plays for the Win..I believe he was a Freshman, true Freshman that year?

That was Quincy Carter.

DJ was in on two or three plays in 2003, and it didn't turn out well for him.

Then destroyed us in 2005.

^THIS. Quincy looked like Tom Brady in 98. This was in large part because of the "Drop linebacker". Booger played his arse off that game, but I digress. DJ came in for Greene after he tweaked his knee in the 03 game. I remember him backed up in the south end zone. His eyes looked like the black guy in the boat on Caddyshack. Spears and Hill ate him alive. Yes, he got his revenge 2 yrs later in he SECCG and put on a clinic against an exhausted tiger team. Class act guy, too.

Hasnt UGA given up over 300 yds rushing in the last 2 seccg's? If they cant stop the run I feel pretty good.

Yeah, I don't say a lot to my dawg friends but UGA on D does not scare me. Alot of UGA kool aid being handed out around here. They're thin in the secondary. I have a feeling Boyd may light them up in game 1. They lost a lot of beef from their 3-4. Jarvis Jones was a badass and he is gone. I'm really interested in "scouting" them on tv in their first 2. Murray is an enigma- about to break a ton of records held by the likes of Wuerffel, etc. Yet, is potentially finishing a sort of "underwhelming" career because he has yet to achieve that signature win. Task 1- stop Gurley, beat UGA. (He's the real deal)

I was in ATL for that. UGA fans unleashed on us after that one. But I was also there in 03 when LSU kicked their arse.

2003 was my sweetest yr as a fan. Living here in Ga. Beating them in BR (I was there). Hearing all yr about how the "better team lost" and curb stomping them in their indoor facility. Turned 30. First born child. SEC champ. Natty.

quote: I agree. Even with a young defense I really believe our offense is going to be able to score at will. WE ARE GOING TO SIMPLY OUTSCORE EVERY OPPONENT WE FACE THIS YEAR. This. This. This. When you have a good offense you don't need a good defense. QBs are always much better their 2nd year than the 1st. We will have a passing attack along with the running, and no one will be able to stop us, including Alabama.
. Eh. Well see, I wish I shared your optimism.
