Search BR craigslist sporting for Matthews bows. There's an older Feathermax (probably a 1996 or so model) fully rigged with a really nice case, a dozen arrows and a $100 Scott release for $350, and another (FX) for $190. For those of you thinking about getting in to bow hunting, you might be best to start out with something like this prior to dropping $1,000 on a new setup.

There's also a nice Hoyt for sale in Covington for $250.

I don't know if this is against TD rules to direct folks to other sites, but these aren't my items for sale. I just saw them and thought they were good, inexpensive alternatives for someone just starting out. Pardon me if I piss someone off.

I appreciate you looking out for everyone on here.

Your last sentence made me laugh. Sound really defensive like people are ganging up on you or acting all OT'ish.

I hope this place is still a circle of trust and safe haven.

As a former owner of a very similar bow, and a general Mathews fanboy, I cannot recommend this bow.

Not sure I would buy a 17 year old bow from someone I didn't know had taken good care of it. definitely wouldn't drop $350 on it. can get a decent Bear setup for that price just about.

with a Scott release ($50-100), case ($50-100), and dozen arrows ($50-100)? I didn't say it was new, I said if you are starting to get into bow hunting it could be a viable option. I don't see the need in a beginner going out and buying all brand new equipment. If you can walk into a store with nothing and walk out with a new setup in a case with everything that guy selling ready to hunt for $350 I'll kiss your arse.

There's a Switchback XT with all of the same stuff (except 10 arrows instead of 12) on EBAY right now for 385.

This. Love my Switchback! I have heard the new Bear bows are nice. Don't know how much they run.

Well that's a good deal. I apologize if I wasted anyone's time with the overpriced advertisement. Carry on.
