Review of Charley Gs

We dont make our way down to Lafy very often so this is the first time we have been to Charley Gs. The atmosphere was great. The service was outstanding and the food was outstanding as well! I had the filet and my wife had the beef tournedo (sp?). That was basically just a filet w/ hollindaise and lump crab meat on top of it. The steaks were prepared medium rare and were very tasty. The potatos needed just a touch of salt, but in their defense, i could install a salt lick at my table and be fine.

We had a tomato bisque that was better than average. I wasnt floored by it but it was quite tasty.

For dessert, we had bread pudding with caramel and white choc. That quite possibly could have been the best desert Ive ever had. It was warm and firm and chewy. Not too sweet but sweet enough.

On top of the stellar service, they comped the dessert, just because! When asked why, the server said "because we travelled a while and dont get down here often". (I had told the host this earlier in passing conversation).

Overall, they earned a repeat visit from us. The next time we head that way, we will definately throw more business their way.
