Someone Explain To Me The Hype Of Alfred Blue

I just watched his highlight videos and saw a good running back, but not great. I have the want for him to be great and I was watching for any glimpse of that greatness and the only thing I saw that really stood out was his ability to catch the ball. Something has made him real popular amongst LSU fan though including the Bluuuuuue chants in Tiger Stadium. Jeremy Hill gives me the awe factor with his vision, power, and speed. I do see it in him.

You can't expect to be taken seriously when you volunteered to suck a dick if we signed 9 5-star recruits, on the recruiting board.

You're gonna get crucified but I have always wondered the same. He wasn't a big recruit. Overshadowed by Ford and Ware in that class. Yet he was the first of the 3 to see the field so Miles obviously liked him. He never really showed me that greatness factor. Even prior to last season when they listed him the starter I thought it was a joke. He gets hurt and others shine. He is a unique back compared to the others so he brings a different style which is nice. But I don't think he is an all-SEC RB by any means. Hope I am wrong.

I'm not volunteering to suck anything. 9 five star recruits WILL NOT HAPPEN! Yes I go by the composite rankings too. One or a few of those recruits will fall down to 4 stars. Watch! They don't want LSU to shine.

I would have agreed with the OP's sentiments 'cept Blue was playing very well last year before he got hurt. I don't think he's as good as Hill but a very good RB nonetheless. If he's overhyped it's not by much.

LSU hasn't had an all-SEC back in a while. Blue may not be the best 1 or 2 RBs in the league but he's in the top 30% IMO...

He also played against cupcake teams in 2012 and in 2011 he played in garbage time when the game was already in hand.
