My wife's birthday is next week and she likes Italian cream cake. I usually go to Vicki's in Plaquemine for my kids cakes but their quality wasnt the same the last couple of times I've been.

Any suggestions?

I will put Cake Goddess up there with the best of them.

Ambrosia is average at best, don't get the love. Must be from people growing up going there.

Thanks.

She mentioned Ambrosia's a couple of weeks ago, but I just read the reviews online and most aren't good. I will check out Cake Goddess's website.

I'm not a fan of red velvet, but from the people who like it say that theirs is the best they have had.

Ambrosia

Nothing Bundt Cakes has some good stuff too, if it's for a smaller party.

Just a suggestion. Get her a dozen cupcakes from Sweet Wishes on Perkins Road. My wife and I started doing that a couple years ago for special occasions, instead of buying whole cakes. They taste very good, and they have a wide variety, so you can try a bunch of different flavors. A lot more fun than buying a cake, IMO.

Gotta say, NBC's Red Velvet and frosting had me wanting more, and thinking of it the following days, each of the last two times bought, more so than say the last bought Ambrosia's Scarlett O'Hara or Whole Food's Chantilly Cream.

Cake Goddess! I love the almond "wedding cake" flavor.

I did forget about Nothing Bundt Cake. Very good icing(and I usually don't eat the icing), you can taste the cream cheese in it. Very fresh and moist cake too.

Ambrosia uses gallon bucket crap icing on their cakes. Do not want.

My wife swears by Baum's. I've had a few cakes from there and they were all good.
