apparently Kosar made quite the impression on Rams coach Jeff Fisher.

quote:

"I'm just surprised that Bernie has such a lack of respect for players and for this game. So, to be honest with you, I lost a lot of respect for him. This game is a preseason game. Players are playing hard. It's highly unlikely that he knew anything about our football team but felt the need to make those comments. I don't think they were justified."

I think Kosar could have just very well been trying to keep a sense of humor up in the booth during a boring preseason.

I don't know. I watched a bit of that game during Kosar's comments and I thought it was strange. Like, I noticed "Hey, maybe that's a bit much." It seemed out of the ordinary and not very humorous. As if Kosar has much room to talk like that about Clemens anyway.

For a good 30 seconds, I thought I was just looking at it funny. I was going to make a comment about how weird the English language is. Then I realized he spelled Down wrong.

Although, the fact that tone and done are spelled the same except for one letter and sound completely different is still strange.

I mean I chuckled. But again, you do have to watch what you say these days.

It isn't going to change my opinion on Kellen Clemens. He's a backup QB for the Rams.

He went beyond that, too. I don't remember exactly what, but he kept going with it. I don't really care, but I thought it was kind of unprofessional to be that critical, especially of a marginal player.

This, I have heard Al Michaels make some pretty condescending remarks about teams personnel and play during preseason games.

well damn

I was fixing to say, I doubt he had some kind of vendetta against Kellen Clemens... but damn.

What he said wasn't nice but I don't like the fact that most of society is soft today.

it is as if a lot of people have virgin ears out there.

When we lived in Cleveland the thing I loved most was being able to watch most Browns games and hear Bernie. He sounded absolutely sloshed the entire game, and eventually I pretend its really Drunk Barney from the Simpsons talking.

Im not really offended by what he said, its moreso a showing of how shitty he must be as a color commentator that hes ragging on practice squad players out of boredom

[quote]After Donovan relayed a story during the telecast that Clemens had recently met the Pope, Kosar said, "Bless me father for I have sinned. I have to watch him the whole fourth quarter."
Later, Kosar called the Rams' receivers "horrible" and said of Sherman, "I'm checking through the itinerary here of guys, of coaches to see who the receiver coach is, to make sure I don't know this guy is," Kosar said. "Because he's not doing very good, either."
