Headed to NO for the Saints season opener and I'm looking for the best steak in New Orleans. What does the FDB say? Where should I go? TIA

Best steak is the dry aged prime NY strip at Delmonico.

My favorite steak place is La Boca.

Mr John's is the best traditional steak restaurant, La Boca for less traditional offerings. Never had the aged strip at Delmonico but I have heard great things

How is Charlie's Steakhouse? Anyone who's been have a quick review or opinion?

The strip at Mr. John's. La Boca for something different.

My wife and I both had the aged strip at Delmonico. Very underwhelming, perhaps just an off night.

Mediocre at best. I would never make a point of going to the place. Seriously.

Traditional: Mr. Johns

Not traditional: La Boca

If I had to pick, go with La Boca. You can get a great steak at a tradiutional house just about anywhere.

As others have said:

The strip at Mr. John's.

La Boca for less traditional, Argentinian options.

I hate this shite...

Did you even read the man's post?

He's flying in for a game, so likely staying in a hotel, and does not have access to a kitchen.

And, guess what, sometimes people like to have others do the cooking for them. Enough of this "you can make the best food in the world at your own house" shite. If that were true, then restaurants would cease to exist.

only steak houses I've been to in Nola are Desi Vega's and Chophouse. both were pretty good. but in the end, it's a steakhouse. not going to be anything mind-blowing. considering it's New Orleans, I'd spend your money on the countless number of restaurants that are better than any steakhouse.

You going on game day?

I would do Desi Vega or Chop House. Both are slightly closer than some of the other good choices.

That being said, this isn't a steak town, but those choices if you must.

I think N.O. is a pretty good steak town.
We all know that you don't care for eating steaks in restaurants, so your judgement may be a little cloudy on this issue.

Desi Vega is owned by the exact same people as Mr. John's so you can try either.
