I think my squad is too hurt/suspended for their biting to field a full 11 and the window is closed.

I'm pretty sure people were talking about it. I was just sitting around during the 7-0 Barca match trying to figure out how many weeks one would take and I came up with 10.
I figure the best way is to do 4 groups of 5 ... top 2 in each group advance to quarters, then two-legged quarters and semis and then a one-match final.
