I liken us to the nuggets, we don't have a set starting lineup. We are a very versatile, talented offensive team. Minutes will be adjusted for each opponent. I doubt monty knows what the exact rotation will be mid-season. I sure as hell don't.

I'm just hopeful.

So your 6th man will lead the team in scoring?

Good call, except that we have a potentially elite player in Davis while they have a very talented but more limited player in Faried.

So, what does this board expect from smiht? What's the consensus say his average will be as a starter? 10/6/1?

Manu has always been one of the Spurs most productive players as the 6th man

All I know is I can't wait for the season. It will be much different than the past two years

I'm not sold on Smiht as a C, especially starter, as most of the board. He can play it at times but I feel his game is better suited as a PF

That being said, I hope he can stay healthy this season and prove me wrong

I'd say that's a pretty fair projection for 20-25 minutes or so.

Averaged 8.6/3.5 in 16-18 per game

Jason Smith has to step up and put up bigger numbers this year. H doesn't have a choice anymore. That is his position to lose (starting center)

I think he plays the same minutes (~20mpg) regardless of whether he's a starter or not. If he's a starter, his numbers will go down. He took 7 shots a game in 17 minutes last year off the bench. Playing mostly with Holiday, Gordon, Davis, I expect that number will go down.

They could start him, but I think they go with Stiemsma- maybe Withey if he shows out- to start each half. Smiht isn't a banger- I don't think he's a better defender than Anderson, he is just more willing to put a guy in the seats- and he's more valuable on a second unit. You could run out a 2nd unit with Ryno, Morrow, and Smiht to spread the floor for Evans that would give teams fits.

Why is 18-20 a game not possible when he has consistently increased his PPG every year?

easy, you have more people who can score now that are more efficient than what we had in the past.
