Hello all, I have been an LSU fan for most of my life. I am only 20 years old but have cheered for the Tigers since 2000 or 2001, so roughly 12 or 13 years. I am from Mississippi and a student at State (couldn't afford out of state tuition). I've been to numerous LSU games in Starkville, Oxford, NOLA, and Tuscaloosa, but never to a home game at Tiger Stadium.

I plan on going to the Kent St, Ms. State, Ole Miss, and A&M games this year so I ask, would you recommend waiting to go to a bigger first game or do you think the Kent. game will still be a good first experience?

you won't know what you're missing so in a sense it will be fine but it won't be like it will for Auburn, A&M and Florida that's for sure.

I'd go to Kent State for the first game experience and get the lay of the land, then come back for the big ones with Aub, UF, and A&M (preferably the latter two) so you can see the stadium the way it was built to be experienced.

So what are you wearing? Really and truly, not trying to sucker you, but you very well may have even more fun standing out in the visitor's colors than you would being a stranger in P&G- more free food and drinks, "fan interaction", etc.

Any home game in Tiger Stadium is great but an SEC game s special.

As others have said, come to Kent State...enjoy the not so crowded and more relaxed feel. Then come for the T A&M game to see how intense things get'

Either way...enjoy and be prepared to be blown away.

By going to the Kent St. game, at least it will be a night game. A&M game won't be at night, but it will be a bigger game atmosphere.

Kent State was pretty good last year. But the crowd won't be into it.

I was sitting there thinking about this earlier. I wasn't a student at State my freshmen year so this will be the first year I am a student at State and will go to the LSU game. I was thinking I would sell my student ticket and get a ticket in the visitors section. Tell the girlfriend I'll see her after lol

agree with the others...kent will be a pretty relaxed time and will be a relatively easy day to deal with...you will see a lot of people bring small children to that type of game due to the relaxed nature of it...

as far as I am concerned, any saturday night in tiger stadium is better than sitting at home...

ETA: better make hotel reservations soon if you will be needing one...

I travel from MS to tiger stadium for every home game, so if you need travel tips just let me know..

An SEC night game is ideal. Not sure if we even have any of those this year.

Where in MS do you travel from? I'm from Meridian so I'll be coming from about as far west in MS as possible.

When lsu plays the smaller schools it is a nice time to
Relax and bring kids Fewer assaholics. Its nice to cheer your
Team and such but one does get tired of drunks screaming

Won't be the same against a smaller team. The full experience comes against better teams, and especially at night.

As most have said, won't be the same as a "big" game, but, hell, it's Tiger Stadium. If you don't get effin chill bumps down your arms when TGBFTL comes out for pre-game you ain't got a pulse.

If you are already planning on A&M, (Ole Miss is in Oxfart), shite, save your money and see the Tigers whip some Aggie arse. This isn't a prerequisite situation where you need first game 101....just get down to Baton Rouge and pass a good time..
