Know his peeps. Love for him to be a Tiger but likely there will be real MLB appearances before he ever wears P&G. Hope I'm wrong.

looks like he just 1/3 of an inning. one walk but the runner was erased trying to steal. no hits.

Was at the game and unfortunately for LSU I don't think either Marshall or Greg Deichmann will ever play an inning at LSU. They both will get drafted to high. Just like I said last year that Justin Williams would never play an inning with LSU after watching him play in that Allstar game, Deichmann is not much further behind Williams as a hitter. Deichmann was in the HR derby this year "just as Williams was last year" and even though he didn't win it like Williams did, Deichmann swing is legit. Kids with that kind of power get drafted to high which after seeing him play he is going to get drafted to high.

Those kids that play in the Perfect Game Allstar game are the top high school kids in the nation. I didn't keep the stats from last year but I would be willing to bet at least 40 of the 50 kids from last years team signed MLB contracts. I can tell you this my son plays for the top travel ball program in San Diego "his coach is actually one of the coaches for the PG Allstar game" the program consistently puts players in that Allstar game every year. Last year they had 3 players in the game, all 3 ended up signing MLB contracts. One was drafted in the 1st round, one drafted in the 3rd round and the other the 4th round. That is how high these kids that play in that game get selected. This year the program put 4 kids in the game and all 4 will get drafted to high in MLB to every play a single inning with the colleges they are committed to.

It is great to hear LSU's name being called out as the college of choice for some of these players but for what it's worth if they play in the PG High School Allstar game, unfortunately the chances are too high they won't ever play an inning for LSU.

Really, you would be surprised as to what I run into in the travel ball world and unrealistic fan bases.

they are still worth following. they could get hurt and mess up their draft status ala bregman.

Didn't say they weren't worth following, and I certainly hope that none of these kids get hurt they don't deserve that. Just giving my educated perspective on it, you can do what you want with it makes no difference to me.

My wife's cousin went out there to watch Deichmann play. He coaches him here in LA.

He told me about th shot he hit at West Jeff that landed on the 50yrd line in the football stadium. That impressed the hell out of me.

Deichmann hit some impressive shots in the HR derby unfortunately he only ended up with 1 hr, 4 more he hit out of the park were foul balls. But the winner only hit 4 hr. They did the HR derby in a new ballpark this year on USD's campus and it isn't a hitter friendly ballpark. People just don't get it sometimes, yes it is a nice and new ballpark but when you go to see a HR derby and 2 kids hit 4 hr's and 5 kids hit 3 hr's to get into the finals not a lot of excitement generated. Newer is not always better.

Last year they held the HR derby at Point Loma Nazarene's ballpark and not only is it the absolutely hands down most beautiful setting to watch a college game in the country "the view literally is on a bluff overlooking pacific ocean, so you have outfield then the ocean" the facilities are actually very nice and country club like, but it is also a very hitter friendly park. The kids were hitting double digit HR's as opposed to under 5 this year.

Oh well stupid is as stupid does.

At the HR derby this year there was a kid "last name Bellenger" that hit 2 HR's that were monsters. In right field right past the fence there is a five story apartment complex at the top of the complex sits a sign "452ft" that is where this past years USD phenom Chris Bryant hit a ball. Well Bellenger hit 2 blasts that cleared the 452 sign, he literally hit them on the freaking roof and bounce them over the building. Saw them with my own eyes. Kids a freaking beast 6'6, 248lbs with a monster swing.

Way too early to tell, you don't see those projections until around March-ish, but he is a projected middle infielder with a power bat that hits from the left side. He has graded out extremely well, if he has as good a senior year as projected "and from what very limited action I saw him in this weekend" he is going in the first 3 rounds.
