I have everything with them, great customer service and you won't find lower rates.

Easy to set up?

Do you have an auto loan?

I can't find whether the will fund a private buyer loan or if they only do dealer purchases...

I keep my emergency savings at PenFed and rotate some of it into cds. I haven't had any complaints about them either.

I use them for my mortgage and HELOC. Great rates and never had a problem with them.

Just called and talked to them... Their auto rates destroy anyone else out there.

How did you all join? I see you can join a number of ways. All of my relatives who would qualify due to their military service are now deceased.

Did you just pay the one time donation fee to an organization and then join?

Yes, and I will advise, if you plan to use them for savings or anything of that nature, you can only deposit $50 a day electronically for the first 6 months. I paid the $10-$15 donation and my account was active. Be sure to print a copy of the registration pages when you first sign up. PenFed loves communicating through snail mail.

I failed to make copies of a few pages and I wasn't able to set up my online account until I had received my first piece of mail from them.

Just finished a refi with them. Had to resign closing docs twice because of mistakes in the docs. Had to extend the rate lock to get closing done but they didnt cause problems because it was their fault. Great rate. Lower than anyone around. Paid the $15 to join the voices group. Would do it again.

Signed up, talked to them 2 or 3 times today, and just applied for an auto loan at the 1.99%. Didn't get the immediate response and had to call in bc I have a fraud watch on my report. Said it should be cleared now and they will give an answer in a day

My credit union has the same rates as penfed generally. USAA generally beats my CU rates though fwiw

Looked at USAA, but it seemed like you had to have a living relative that qualified in order to allow you to join.

All of my relatives that would qualify have since passed

I called them a few years ago and was told not only did a relative have to have been in the service they also needed to have been insured by USAA at some point, which my dad had not so I joined PenFed 4-yrs ago. I actually called PenFed in November from a dealership and was approved in less than 3 minutes at an extremely cheap rate. I have not had any issues with PenFed whatsoever, and when they say no closing costs on a mortgage it is no closing costs.

Why are you waiting? I get $15 a month back in gas only purchases. Everything else goes on my CSP

Because unless I go down to North Carolina.... I fill up once a month at best. I can't justify the card for that right now
