#Rangers get Alex Rios for cash considerations OR player to be named later, reportedly Leury Garcia. Story to come:

Very nice trade.

The PTBNL will be Leury Garcia according to Twitter. Want to settle in the offseason so he doesn't have to clear waivers now.

According to Hayes the White Sox will receive a player to be named later or cash for Rios, which suggests they were mostly interested in shedding the remainder of his contract. There’s speculation that the PTBNL will eventually be revealed as Leury Garcia, a 22-year-old middle infielder who hasn’t hit much in the minors yet.

Hasn't hit in the minors? He hit .300 last year, I believe. He just hasn't hit in the majors because he didn't receive any consistent playing time.

UTIL infielder for an impact right handed bat we've been looking for.

We're going to grab the bull by its horns and take this division.

.292 last year, .264 this season, he hit .274 in 2010, and .256 in 2011.

.292 but with only a .735 OPS. He has a career .657 OPS in the minors

The correct thing to say is that he hasn't hit for power. He will never hit for power. He will get a few triples and some doubles. I think he'd be a really good utility guy.

But this is a great trade for the Rangers.

If you guys remember Joaquin Arias, Garcia fits in the same mold.

Only he doesn't hit double, dude is a depth player for the farm system and the White Sox only wanted to get rid of that contracy

And to only give up Leury Garcia, have him. Not like he was going to stick in the majors in the coming years

Random fact: since 2008 Delmon Young only has 1 season with a positive WAR

Plus 26 SB this season which is among the AL leaders. It appears with this move the team is going to commit to this new-look "Runnin' Rangers" approach.

Now I have heard elsewhere that Rios has been a clubhouse problem, but those sources are questionable. Has anyone else heard this from more reputable sources? One of the Rangers' primary strengths is their clubhouse unity and I remember how Josh (and Oswalt to a lesser extent) wrecked it last year; I don't want to see a repeat.
