BJs Brewhouse: opinions on this establishment?

Meh, last few times I went I was very underwhelmed.... Food wasn't good, service was bad, beer was flat. It use to be where we went before the movies when we went, now I would prefer Sammy's, Bulldog, or somewhere else

Nice beer selection for a place like that. I enjoy the plethora of TVs for sports watching as well. Service has been average to above average.

Food, I've never had bad meal there, but nothing spectacular.

agreed with all of the above, normally sit at the bar and dont have a problem with service

Don't kid yourself, you could do much worse around that area (Applebee's,, lava cantina, California pizza kitchen, BWW, etc). I'd go to Bar Louie if you're over that way. And Nino's if you want to pay much more

Does lava cantina make it one entire year?

Food is acceptable and beer is good.. But service is always horrid. Generally reviews about service carry very little weight with me because some people think the tiniest mistake=bad service, but this place legitimately has poor service across the board. Whether I've been at the bar, at a table in the bar area, or in the dining room.. I've always had to wait forever for even someone to greet me.

I concur with the previous reports of bad service. Whether you're sitting in the bar area or the dining room, expect to wait forever to get a drink refilled.

I like BJs, for the most part. The food isn't anything to write home about, and often I find it too salty for my taste, but it's not that bad. Have to keep in mind that it's a chain. I can't say much about the service because I'm friends with several of the servers so either they are always extra attentive to me or the service just hasn't ever been bad for me. I like the beer selection. Endeavour on tap..

On a side note, since Lava Cantina came up, a former manager at BJ's owns it.. I like that place. The music is my kinda music, and the food is good. I wish they had a better beer selection but it's not too bad.

Their margaritas are way too bitter. I can barely sip one. Way too tart compared to superior grill or Ninfa's.
