yeah the only reason I put him ahead of parsons is because of his defense.

I'm gonna do a composite at some point, which teams have the lowest point totals, if you add up the positions points of each team.

For example, BobBarker has:

SAS= 12 pts
HOU= 13 pts
PELs=14 pts
MEM= 15 pts
DAL= 19 pts

So he thinks we have the 3rd best set of starters in our Division, but adds with Davis' progression we could end up #2.

Going to Tipitina's right now. If anyone wants to add 'em up, feel free. Or just add up your own, so I can peak in while the band is playing.

Yeah. Someone mentioned him playing good defense on Lebron in the finals and now he's a defensive stopper.

Parsons is a good defender.

Leonard is a better rebounder, better defender, more versatile, and is as good a shooter. The only thing Parsons does better is create.

Leonard is a lesser version of Paul George. Parsons is a lesser version of Glen Rice. I'll take the Paul George model every single time.

Thank you, I pretty much agree with where you put each Hornet on this list.

Wut

All Parsons does better is create? Lol. What games are you watching?

Parsons is probably the closest thing to Paul George in the NBA. He is a good defender with a diverse offensive game.

NBA loves to sensationalize players in the playoffs. No one even knew who Leonard was in tbe regular season. People got the idea he was shutting down LBJ (who almost averaged a triple double in the finals lol) and all of a sudden he is some legit force. i call that the Tayshaun Prince treatment. Dude landed $10m a year based on "playoff defense". If Leonard played in Philly he'd be Thaddeus Young with a 3 point shot.

Parsons is the 2nd best player on his team and is asked to do way more. Look at his win shares. And if you want to glorify a guy for 1 or 2 good playoff games, Parsons averaged 18/7/4 with 3 3s per game. Eerily similar to... Paul George

Yep. Leonard is a better rebounder. Tougher to quantify defense, but I think most would agree he is a better defender. Their shooting %s (basic and advanced) are roughly the same. Their USG rates are roughly the same. Parsons has double the AST %.

Good is generous for Parsons. And how can you not say the same thing about Leonard?

quote:

No one even knew who Leonard was in tbe regular season.

bullshite. The only one talking about his playoffs is you.

quote:

Look at his win shares

Parsons played in 20 more games than Leonard. Of course his Win Shares are higher. Look at WS/48. Leonard is 30% higher

Lulz. My turn to ask what games are you watching. And Parsons hasnt benefitted from playing in a system that fits him perfectly?

quote:

Parsons is the 2nd best player on his team and is asked to do way more.

2nd best player on an 8 seed v 3rd best player on a 2. Again Parsons and Leonard have roughly the same USG rate, so way more is just not true.

Both guys are good players. I'd rather take Leonard's superior defense and size.

Considering you argued at the beginning of last season that Aminu was better than Parsons, you've had quite the shift on him. And I appreciate how you think and continue to think about these things.

I did? I think Aminu is one of the worst players in the league. If you can quote me on that ill never post on this board again.

HH, pretty simple. No one was talking about Leonard in the regular season. He is a product of the spotlight.

Just like Steph Curry was being called the best player in the league during his run.

Like Paul George was a "superstar" while the Pacers were contending.

Roy Hibbert was a top 5 center.

The media is famous for sensationalizing the players who are performing at that point in time. Leonard is good. People are acting like he's great.

Parker SAS
Conley MEM
Holiday NOP
Lin HOU
Calderon DAL

Tough call between Holiday and Conley. I'll give Conley the benefit of the doubt, the surrounding talent difference between Memphis and Philly were significant. Holiday will be #2 at the end of the year.

SG
Harden HOU
Gordon NOP
Ellis DAL
Allen MEM
Green SAS

All on EG's health.

SF
Parsons HOU
Leonard SAS
Marion DAL
Prince MEM
Aminu NOP

Replaced Evans with Aminu. Evans won't start at SF. No guarantee that he finishes there either.

PF
Duncan SAS
Norwitski DAL
Davis NOP
Randolph MEM
Motiejunas HOU

Replaced Asik with Motie. No idea who starts at PF for Houston, but it won't be Asik. Really tough ranking the top 4. Randolph could very well be better than Davis next season, but I could see Duncan/Dirk/Davis going any order giveh the age of the former two, plus having no idea how big of a leap Davis will make. It's obviously not the end all stat, but AD finished 4th in PER among PF's, behind Duncan but ahead of Dirk/ZBo.

C
Gasol MEM
Howard HOU
Splitter SAS
Dalembert DAL
Smith NOP

For funzies, top 5 bench players:
Evans
Ryno
Asik
Koufos
Ginobili (ranked so low because I have no idea how badly he'll fall off, but was obviously terrible in the playoffs)
