Rookie LB Eric Martin making some noise.

Undrafted rookie outside linebacker Eric Martin continued to make his presence felt while working with the second-stringers. He forced a fumble by tailback Mark Ingram with the second-string offense. He also obliterated Travaris Cadet on a kickoff return (one of Martin's strengths in college that will help him make the Saints' roster). And he potentially had a sack or an assist on a sack.
With Butler out and also Tez for a few weeks, Martin is getting the extra snaps and looking impressive. Sounds like he is nails on special teams as well.
I'm not giving out Ojo awards just yet, but I am praying to god one of our undrafted rookie LBs can contribute. Having Will Smith and Vilma in a 34 defense scares the shite out of me.
I'm not asking for a Teddy Bruschi, but another JoLonn Dunbar would do just fine right about now.

I concur.

It was unfortunate we had to let Dunbat go. That guy was so solid for us. I guess he'd be a ILB in this scheme though.
I know they're both UDFAs, but surprisingly I'm not scared that Martin and Thomas are going to provide some reps for this team. With them being the only true 34 OLBs on this team besides and injured Butler, they almost automatically have an edge. That said, I think Galette will be a beast this year ad I hope Wilson can come back strong from injury.
