Auctions Drafts, these damn things are tough.

What's your strategy? Wait until most are out of $$?
I'm in one league this year. It seems my snake leagues produce better teams.

Get a stud player that you know will produce. Some teams try to get cute and try to be good at each position but you better make sure you get a stud to build your team around.

I do a lot of value-based drafting, so auctions kind of play into that.

I have two main auction principles:
1. Spend 60% of my cap to get 3 top tier players.
2. Spend 100% of my cap to get 125% value.
Don't overpay, and have some money for the endgame and you will do well.

Whatever gameplan you have going into it, get ready to throw it away after the first round.
Pick pick 2-3 stud RBs you want and get at least one of them. Don't pay over $33-35 for a player, unless it's AP, in a $100 cap. Make sure which way you want draft whether it's WR heavy or two stud backs. Finally, have at least 3 plans because you're bound to get outbid eventually.

I'm in 3 paid leagues.
1 standard snake-
1 ppr snake with weird arse QB scoring.
1 Standard Auction- The auction has $200 to spend.

$200 you have more to play with, I'm in $100 so it's tough to budget but it's the only way I draft now.

I did my first (and only) auction draft last year. The majority of the guys overpaid for the top players available. Instead of openly bidding for the best, I'd wait until there was 2-3 bidding on a player and I'd just bid to get someone to spend more money. The only time this backfired was on Calvin Johnson, who I wasn't too upset with. Regardless, what I did was just wait for the decent players when no one else had much money and I went undefeated.

Undefeated for getting the players? Or you team was?

100 budget, not actual money.

It seems getting players early hurts you later on. The drafts seem to take forever

I know
What's the difference from a $200 budget if everyone gets the same amount?

I really hate auction drafts, kind of regret getting in an auction league.
I'll do a few more tonight and see of I find a better strategy.

There's no difference between 200 and 100 you just have more money to play with in a 200 dollar budget. There's more $1-2 players in a 100 budget at the end. Honestly a 100 budget is easier to budget.

I just did something hilarious in a mock. When AP went up for draft, since everyone clicks quickly I put in a $180 bid and some guy bought him for $181.
