I'm scheduled to take a class soon and these will probably be answered in it but I was curious and wanted to know now.

1/ Where did you get your color passport size 2X2 photograph? I was going to do it in one of those Mall booths then read that it can't be one of those.

2/ If you get a lifetime, for the 5 year renewal qualification, do you have to take an all day class? If not, how would you verify a "qualifying" with the handgun?

3/ If you send money but happen to not get approved, do they send back money?

4/ I have a friend who took the class a few years back but never sent in an application. How long after is it valid if he never sent in an app?

Thank you in advance for any help.

EDIT: It depends on your instructor. But I know you pretty much always have to do your shooting qualification.

CVS for mine. Walgreens should do it too.

No idea for the rest. Bap knows a bit about it, listen to him.

I believe it is 60 or 90 days but I need to verify that.

Mine was 6 months. After that passed, I called my instructor and got him to send me a new certificate and then sent that one in 2 days later.

Seems silly but I understand why. I was talking to a LSP handgun approval personnel the other day. She misunderstood what I was asking but said that you cannot get the lifetime license till your 5 year expires. Seems like they would love for people to pay for the lifetime before their 5 year expired.

I think you have up to a year to send it in but have no idea why anyone would wait that long. I sent min in the following Monday. Wife is yet to send packet in.

You have up to a year, but notary work is only good for 90 days.

The first 1/2 of the class is a NRA basic pistol course. The second 1/2 of the class goes over legal issues such as where you carry, deadly force, and any recent changes in the laws. That is why renewals have to take the second half.

I took Dawgs class recently, and he said the certificate is valid for up to 1 year.

This is correct.

Not sure why folks allow the 12 month window to expire. But it happens a lot -- then they have to re-take a class.

Been 4 months and I still haven't submitted mine, mainly because I've been waiting for my DUI to clear.

Would that be enough to reject me even if I still had it on my record?
