I'd argue that's too much.

Although I highly suggest you stay away from Sigma, you can buy one new for $319.99 at Academy.

Right. It's a $200 gun. But if you have the trigger fixed, it's not a bad gun.

Shoot it before you decide. Worst handgun I've ever owned.

I misread earlier, I thought you were getting 500 rounds of ammo with the gun.

He should pay you to take it off his hands.

Never heard of this being feasible.

I've offer $25 ........ and then hold it until the next police buy-back and sell it for $50.

No bull shite the s&w sigma 40 is the worst firearm I've ever shot. Long guns and handguns included. It's a complete POS.

This

This sigma isn't that bad if you know what you are doing around trigger mods. If you can polish out the grittiness of the trigger and lighten it a few lbs, you will have a reliable decent gun.

Stock, it sucks..Hard to pull the trigger and won't stay on target because of it.

I own one (reluctantly admitted around here). I made the mods and have a relatively decent 6th string backup weapon. FWIW I got it in a package deal with 8 mags for value around $200. And mine's a 9mm.

Personally, I'd recommend staying away from the $250 .40 with one or two mags. If he would take $175 it might be worth it. I'm just not a fan of the fortee. I also wouldn't have it as my primary.
