2 Rockies minor leaguers charged with first degree rape

quote:

“The Colorado Rockies and their affiliate, the Asheville Tourists, are aware of the arrests and the very serious allegations made against two players, Michael Mason and Jesse Meaux,” the Rockies said in a statement Thursday night. “Each organization is shocked and deeply concerned about the allegations. At this time, the players have been suspended as the investigation and legal process continue.

As MiLB.com notes, Mason had a 3.38 ERA in 21 appearances this season. Meaux had a 0.90 ERA in 16 games but hadn’t pitched since May 24 due to a right-shoulder injury. Each of them face life in prison without parole if convicted.

The Rangers don't even have the same ownership group let alone the same GM.

There's no doubt about it. They will end up owing him ~$50 mil when all is said and done.

Okay, well whoever in their front office was apart of that should front the cash.

Seriously though, its funny how little the Rangers did during his time there. They sold their entire franchise to a liar who even openly admits to taking PED's while being a Ranger. Couldn't even give them a single playoff appearance...not that he was the only one at fault but still.

Why would they owe him? What are the details of the original deal?

Per the LA Times, $36m of his contract money was deferred at 3%. That means he accrued it under his previous contract, which he opted-out from after the 2007 season.
