Just starting to shop for a new truck.I have a 07 F250 now and want something different that has a warranty. We stopped by a dealership yesterday that sold all the makes(Chevy,GMC,Ford, and Ram).
The Ram 2500 with the Cummins is a fine truck. We liked it best out of all and they seem to have stepped up their game in the fit/finish department.I have been researching and they seem about equal as far as reliability which is what I value most.I will be pulling a 31ft TT 5-6 times a year that weighs almost 9k loaded and a 52hp tractor/loader/implements(right at 10k).Anybody with any real world experience with this truck?

My uncle has a 2012 ram 2500, he pulls ~14000 regularly for work and he loves that truck. It has roundabout 60k on it and hasn't had a single issue.

We have a 2011 Ram 3500 w/ the Cummins and its a beast. Never had a problem with it and we tow construction equipment/materials with it all of the time. Dodge has really stepped up their game.

I have a Ram 1500 4x4 crew with the hemi it has been equally reliable.

Any diesel 3/4 ton truck you choose will tow those loads with relative ease.

I tow a 10k lb fifth wheel with a 2012 F-250 diesel and other than start/stop in traffic i don't even know its there.

The chevy/gmc engine drive train is great but i don't like the interior fit/finish.

dont let any prior negative thoughts of the old dodges sway your opinion of the new dodges. I wont try to sway you one way or the other, but drive one and decide for yourself.

This...at this point basically pick one that you like the looks, interior, etc and you'll be happy.

I have a '12 F250 and don't have any complaints so far.

Correct me if i am wrong but isn't the dodge the only one not to require diesel exhaust fluid? That could be a positive IMO. My ford uses about 2.5 gallons of the stuff every 3k miles. Not really expensive at around $16 for a 2.5 gallon jug just a pain in the arse.

The 13s now require the exhaust fluid.

the truck themselves might be great, the company backing them(fiat) isn't

serious questions:

does any version of a 3/4 ton diesel 4x4 get significantly better fuel mileage?

does any version really last longer than the next?
