As of now I know they are trying out three guys at fullback. Well Jaevon Walton was one of those three and he committed to UL-Lafayette today. Im sure they will continue to recruit him and he would jump ship if offered...even a grey shirt.

Jaevon Walton

Raekwon McClellan

Forgot the other possible fullbacks name I believe he from florida

McClellan seems like he's from the same mold as JC Copeland.. athletic, yet undersized high school DT that has wheels and lay the wood.

Did he commit to ULL as a fullback or as a linebacker? I thought they were looking at him for their defense.

Edit- Apparently as a middle linebacker.

Doesnt a gray shirt still take a scholarship, but in a later year?

Yes, a grayshirt is offering them a scholarship in the 2015 class. They would have to pay their own way the first year

Melvin jones is already at typical FB size. I wonder if he doesn't break through the LB depth if he can possibly add some weight and play FB...

MJ is going to be a nut stomping LB. Don't move him.

He's 245. Copeland is in his 270's... Just saying. He could put on "a little" weight and play a role there IF he didn't break through the LB depth. Which I think he will. I've said all along that he's one of our best LB prospects. Love his size at MLB.

Just a thought. He Could play fullback.

as long as he's agile and quick enough, why the frick not??

basically a FB needs to be able to get his assigned man before the back gets there, so if a 300 lbs. FB can do that, why not use him??

shite, with the way S&C, along with nutritional programs are pumping these kids out nowadays, it's only a matter of time before it's pretty much normal….

No doubt they were still on defense. Just saying. It was a possibility that jones moved to the other side of the ball.

He could. Lot of depth at LB. Maybe partly depends both on where he ends up on the LB depth chart and if he looks natural at FB.

A few posters will be pissed if Melvin ends up at FB.
Have to remember this is Cam's offense now, he doesn't need his Fullback to be 260+. Also think they want to see how Beckwith looks at TE/H-back...think a shorter Gates or Winslow.

Why would you move a 4* LB recruit to FB? That is baffling to me.

If he's a good fullback maybe Cam wants him there. Maybe he plays strictly LB? I'm all for utilizing talent.

Why would you move a 4* DT recruit to FB? Like they did with J.C. Copeland. Because he might just be suited for the position.
