Huh? All over the place. It is pretty much rock-rimmed if I remember correctly.

Are you talking about the artificial reef of rocks that we have slaying big trout on?

The old spot called "The Rocks" was between Chef and Bayou Thomas where the cutoff canal washout skirts lake borgne.

Now rocks line the whole shoreline from Martello castle about to Alligator Point. It may be further and will line most of the lake eventually.

It's been awhile since I've been in there, I didn't realize the whole shore is lined.

And the water just finds its way around the back of the rocks rendering the billion $ project a failure. In essense, the shorelines will continue to receed away from the rocks. fricking retarded engineering at its finest.

I know that, I guess I was trying to figure out if the lakes shorelines were lined.

Not sure if trolling or serious....

On the off chance you're being serious:

The rock dikes act as a wave break to prevent further erosion. The energy contained in the waves is dissipated by the rocks. The water still passes through and over the rocks and eventually land will actually build up behind the rocks closing the gap. When the waves are dissipated, the slow moving water behind the rocks deposits sediment allowing for land building.

There is nothing retarded about it. It is a proven method of wave dissipation, erosion prevention and land building. I will pray for the people of this world that you are not an engineer and never took a physics class.

Pisses me off! Y'all stay out of Lake Borne near the Chef. All the fish are on the other side.
I'm glad I'm going to ARkansas this weekend, every boat in town is going to be buzzin through my area.

Funny thing is, I've been trying to get out there and throw spinner baits along the shore line and sight cast the ponds after all of these damn dockside reports and then that article came around.

Moron.

The purpose of the rocks is to dissipate wave energy and slow the rate of retreat of shoreline. That is what they do. They are not intended to stop water.
