Spurs would absolutely be retarded not to take this.

After this point Bale is a depreciating asset. They could build two teams just from the windfall. Invest it carefully and this could push them into a top position.

Dont know if this has been mentioned before but:
Southampton agreed to accept a further £3m from Tottenham and forego the £5m in add-ons, and scrapped the 25 per cent sell-on fee.

So a £3mil payment by spurs will gain them $35mil

Is the 130 in USD or Euro? Assuming USD.

Madrid are being tards about this. They are overpaying like the Dodgers.

Why waste money for no reason?

Spend it on other things (namely Suarez and shirtless photoshoots of CR7).

Seems like Real Madrid spends money like their countries government does. I think Spurs should cash in now or atleast try to make a counteroffer.

People need to realize that money is not an object for Real Madrid. The club is owned by the supporters. Money in the bank should be spent, and there is nothing better for them to spend it on than players. Bale is about to become a brand. The overwhelming majority of their fan base want Perez to get him. Madrid will make a sizable portion of the transfer fee back within the first season on marketing alone.

Why don't Real Madrid just buy Spurs?

This. And then auction off the assets.

There is no reason to blow extra money. Keep in the bank for the future.

For example, the Dodgers new ownership overbid on the team by $700 million. Take that money and buy three perennial superstars instead of giving it away.

Just buy what it takes to get Bale. It will pay itself back, but why waste tens of millions?

Florentino Perez doesn't give a shite about that

It has been four years since he last smashed the transfer record
