I used them last summer. It's an improvement over nothing, but I still had some weeds. For me, I didn't think it was worth the money.

I've always been told to just water the shite out of sod. It'll take eventually.

My wife is nagging me about cancelling trugreen. She doesn't see the benefits. Frankly, other than them getting the chinch bugs out, I don't either.

After using it for years my parents Dalmation went into liver failure ver prematurely in her life. The vets suspected it was due to exposure to the lawn chemicals. Not a big fan of the stuff

I have a 2.5 acre lawn in Texas, and I've used them in the past for pre and post emergent herbicide application, and occasional fertilizer. I normally apply granules myself.

They've done good work at a fair price. However, I use their "Commercial Services" group, not the standard residential side of their business.

St. Augustine. Here's a pic of the shady side:

Here's a pic of the sunny side:

It gets plenty of water between rain and watering. I'm about to test the soil but i'm wondering if there is some kind of fungus or something. For a while after I planted it it was thick and really good looking. I cut it a couple times but always on the mowers highest setting. It has really started declining over the last three or four weeks.

I used Tru Green years ago and my lawn ended up looking worse than my neighbors who used nothing.

YMMV

SA is a pretty tough grass to grow in and keep up. Sounds like youve got the watering down, the shade is a killer on SA though.

Chinch bugs are more prevalent in the Southeast, but are known to kill the roots of SA. You might grab some sevin dust and put it out one evening. Might surprise you whats laying in your yard the next day.

If the grass has been established and your watering with the rain we have been getting its over kill. In saying that with a ph that low I'd add at least 100 pounds of dolomitic lime per 1000. If to do that you will see improvement quickly, doesn't look like chinch bugs or brown patch.

My yard is only around 1100 sq feet. Do you recommend adding that lime all at once or in batches?
