Bill O'Reilly responds to Al Sharpton's comments and Ben Carson interview

LINK

So Al Shaprton took some O'Reilly comments completely out of context to paint him as a racist. Bill plays the full radio clip and ruins Al Sharpton's whole segment

He then discussed Lemon from CNN agreeing with him and Lemon being called an uncle tom.

"Ridiculous is right Al, your day is done"

Great quote from Ben Carson - "We have to recognize that we are all in the same boat in this country and if part of the boat sinks the rest of it goes down too."

Great quote. These people now are more extreme than Malcolm was..

If there's any justice in the afterlife there will be a special place in hell for the likes of Al Sharpton.

I have a good one.. Do you think MLK's legacy would be similar to Jackson's? I always think about this since they were so close.

I don't know how close they really were, but my answer to your question is not in a million years. MLK was a genuine hero, a truly special man. I say that with full knowledge of his marital infidelities. Jesse Jackson is a rhyming simpleton; a two-bit race pimp and hustler.

But Jackson wasn't a

in the '60's was he?

I just think it would have been interesting to see what MLK would have became..

Just like Malcolm and Bobby Kennedy.. their legacies can never be altered and it's a damn shame.

My opinion as well. Hard to believe a man that close to King could end up being such a douche.......

Or is your view of King misconstrued...

MLK would have had more dollars thrown at him.

From what I have read, Jackson latched onto the SCLC at some point far along in its development. He had a much different narrative that didn't jive well with a lot of people. After MLK was assassinated, Jackson wanted to be the next head instead of Ralph Abernathy who most naturally assumed should be the next leader.

That may be right..

I'm just trying to extrapolate MLK's legacy to discredit him as much as possible

re: Bill O'Reilly responds to Al Sharpton's comments and Ben Carson interview

I don't think the radio clip proved that O'Reilly was racist but it did show that he had had little or no interaction with middle-classed Black folks in his life experiences. There is no sin in being ignorant and I applauded O'Reilly admitting his ignorance.

However, I think people must also look at three other points that O'Reilly made in these two segments:

1) Zimmerman was wrong to confront Martin.
2) Blacks are justified in being pissed at folks who profile them.
3) If he were Martin's parents, he would be doing the same thing they are doing.

The slave comment at the very end couldn't be more spot on.

Hack fan, everyone gets profiled and sized up...

Grow up...

I'm 6'5" 235 pounds, unless I'm dressed like I have plenty to lose, women clutch their purses, men shirk around me, and I don't make friends fast...

Its a fact of life, it has nothing to do with skin color and everything to do with presentation, have you ever read the outsiders..."stay golden, Ponyboy" means to clean your act up and live a good life...he was relentlessly profiled being a greaser

It wouldn't have mattered because the one thing that King was adamant about is following Gandhi's example by not using his celebrity to enrich himself, and this caused a lot of friction between him and Coretta who wanted a nice house with a white picket fence. King donated his money for winning the Nobel Peace Prize to charity, something that I can't conceive of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton doing.

MLK did not care for Jackson and stated in conversation that he thought Jackson was in it for the wrong reasons.

The key thing to remember about The Left is the slavish devotion to Dishonesty. Once they pass that hurdle, when they not only don't care about the truth, but actually despise it, they are capable of going Full Alinsky and instituting Liberal Fundamentalism.

MSNBC passed that long, long ago. If they had ANY regard for objective truth or intellectual honesty they wouldn't allow themselves to exist in their current format. But that's their comfy spot, halfway between Hysteria and Agitprop.
