The bed on my new truck is foot shorter than it was on my previous truck, and even then my paddleboard hung out a good 5.5'. I have a giant roof on this truck so I'm thinking of going up there with a rack. Prices on these things vary wildly. I really like this flat rack made by bajarack, thinking it may be the forerunner.

I think flat would work better than this setup for my board though.

Josey has a pretty sweet deal for transporting his kayak.

I saw a sweet wooden setup for hauling yak in the back of a Tacoma this weekend in Bay St Louis, was Josey in town?

I have a quadcab Tacoma, but I hate how the racks look on the roof, so I just bought a bed extender. I like it.

Josey was not in town.

Josey has a hitch rack like the one above.

Did you get the long bed Tacoma? They didn't make it with the manual transmission for some damn reason.

I seen't you out and about

At one point my uncle was going to weld me up a rack, but we never got around to it. I just strap my rig on the jeep and hit the trail

I have a ranger with a 6' bed and just use ratchet straps. Those boats aren't going anywhere. I've put two 14' yaks back there with no issue. Just tie them down.

My board is only 32 lbs and it has a ton of surface area compared to y'alls boats. I could hang it out of the bed, but I doubt I could fit anything else in there. I'd have a problem of keeping the cab end of the board down as well. I'm not putting a tool box on this truck, which made up the front end of my retention system for my last truck. I worry about beating the crap out of my board with the roof rack though, not sure how I'd go about getting up on there.

I bought a contractors ladder rack for mine. It was less than $100 and works just fine

Nope. if you can lift it into your truck bed you should be able to get it on the rack. I lift one and into the bed then jump up there and lift it onto the rack .not hard at all

That is the setup I was looking at. Keeps the bed free for coolers, camping gear and such. I have also seen guys using a cheap little 3 X 5 utility trailer with a tongue extender and a rack for even more space.

My buddy has a Yakima and really likes it.

I just strap mine down in the back and let it hang off the tailgate.

Ratchet Straps FTW

I used to be paranoid about it flying out and used like 5 ratchet straps until I saw Coco put that 14 footer in his Ranger with 1 strap and roll fine with it
