It's possible. His career yard per carry average is impressive.

And you always forget to consider the difference in those averages against SEC competition. It's even more idiotic for y'all to keep bragging about his success against such powerhouses like Idaho St, Towson, UNC, etc...

For years y'all have always said that his speed and athletic ability was wasted. But then he has a great chance against Bama with a huge hole opened up by the blockers and he gets chased down by Mark Barron and his "elite" mid 4.5 speed.

Reality is he was an average receiver at best and about the same as a runningback. We easily had 5-10 guys who deserved those touches. It's stupid as frick for people to think that the coaches purposely held him back. When what they wanted most of all was for him to be the best in the nation if he could. Nobody held him back. Things just work out like that sometimes.

Davenport was a 5 star DT who hardly ever took a snap at the position in college. Did Brick Haley waste his talent too or was he just largely overrated coming out of high school? The latter is the truth. The coaches wanted the best for Shep. It's in their best interest.

Damn, he really pisses you off. I really hope he makes in the NFL now. Some of you will lose your minds.

He wasn't a good fit at LSU, should have gone elsewhere.

Shep worked his arse off in school. He dated the JUGS machine. Dude caught tons of balls before and after practice.

I just did a simple google search for JUGS machine, his name and LSU and this popped up.

I told you the man was a workout warrior. Don't knock the kid if you have zero idea what you're talking about

No it's you that pisses me off. Another idiot blaming everything on the coaches every chance you get. I want(ed) him to be successful, but I'm tired of dealing with cognitive dissonance through dumbasses like yourself. Using facts that only support your opinion and disregarding all that go against it.

You take every chance to hate on coaching. Even though players, like all people, should be accountable for their careers, triumphs and misfortunes. Is it Nick Saban's fault for Justin Vincent wasting his career away?

Though I'll have the last laugh because Miles and the coaching staff aren't going anywhere for a long time.

So he was held back on purpose, even though it's the teams/coaches best interest for him to be a success?

Right, makes complete sense.

You must have one shitty life if a message board poster pisses you off.

Well, being wrong doesn't seen to stop you from saying it again.

I blame coaching when coaching needs blaming and give it credit when it needs credit. I would say you selectively ignore, but you are just talking out your arse

I don't know why you're mad that he's succeeding when Les refused to use him. That's old news.

But don't act like you knew him and knew he was going through the motions at LSU. RS worked his arse off.

It's cool to see him doing his thing so he can give a big frick you to him.

bullshite. You've talked shite about coaches plenty of times on here. You pick and choose facts and disregard others like always.

Two biggest you can't refute

1. It was in their best interest for Shep to succeed.

2. He got passed on the depth chart by several younger receivers. Because they're better.

You don't even understand what I'm arguing.

So did the other receivers that beat him out. Why is their hard work not appreciated?

You said if he worked as hard as he is now while at LSU he'd have been better. He did work as hard. Nothing has changed

Your ignorance is marveling to watch from afar

I understand your a shift worked who makes around $10/hour and RS is about to make millions, but I don't see the need to get this upset about an LSU player finally succeeding

Take a breather, pal

seriously? again. Name one LSU player who touched the ball in more ways than RS did in the last 10 years. They literally tried to give him the ball every way possible. QB? he sucked at practice and would've been a disaster (despite what some of you experts who've seen a recruiting video think). RB? Yeah, they gave him the ball 104 times when he was at best our 3rd best RB any given year (and that's being generous, he was more like our 5th best RB). WR? he had 58 catches over his career and a ton of drops. and, many
of his rushes came out of the WR position and putting him in motion. he got passed up by freshman after freshman his junior and senior year.

now, some idiots may think he didn't work hard at LSU. I never said that. by all accounts he seemed like a great Tiger who worked hard and did his best. His best was just 5th string at nearly every position they tried him at. Still, he got the opportunity to touch the ball. More so than most 3rd-4th-5th string players. and, then he started getting passed on the depth chart by better players.

Les Miles used RS in a ton of different ways. it just didn't work out.

They did use him, with limited success. And then, he got passed up his junior year by freshman. And then, he got passed up his senior year by more freshman.
