If the East Upper Deck added 11500 and there are 9 sections in the SEZ Expansion and 9 in the upperdecks then we should be adding at least 11500 which would put us at 104k

So the rumors could be accurate. The sections are wider but shorter in the endzone but there are more suites.

Now, will they sell some cheaper tickets since they're having trouble selling the non conference games with only 93k

Second diagram just doesn't look right. It shows the bathrooms being at the highest elevation with no over hang above it. I think that they forgot to draw the rest of the stands above them. Which would make the deck larger

Is the new upper deck going to connect to both current upper decks and create a bowl? aTm's lets a lot of noise out by being open all between each section.

We looked in to building a large parking garage closer to the river. It would be nearly impossible for LSU to make its money back on it. The only feasible way would be to get funding from the state, but then it would require students to be allowed to park in it. It would then become a conflict of interests to kick the students out on gamedays, when the state put academic money towards its construction.

I think it is necessary and should be done FWIW.

While it would be awesome to have the largest stadium in the SEC, I would rather win more national championships any day. We already have the loudest.

I still think this whole "stadium expansion" thing is a giant hoax. It's not real people, never gonna happen. lol

guessing 10k more seats so 103 area would make sense. Really doesn't matter though.
It actually does matter.

When did that ever stop them from doing it before? Students get kicked out of every lot on game day, rodeo day, Chancellor has an errection day, etc.

Good. That 99,999 thing they were going for was retarded.

I hope it's ONE more than that Toilet Bowl Thing 2 states over. It will make the Toothless Detergent Heads whine and cry.....

I've heard from a TAF buddy of mine (informally of course) that the AD and TAF are also looking into the possibility of building suites only around the top of the NEZ.
Ground supports would be built that would not impede the view of the NEZ Roman Colisuem arch design nor the beautiful new NEZ lights and improvements. The outside of the suites would complement it.
There would be no major upheaval of the NEZ street or corridor either.
The scoreboard and video screen would be raised and It would add 2000+ to DV capacity, bringing it to close to 105,000+ total.

My understanding for attempting to seat 99,500 was to avoid falling under the 100k+ building codes, which would require major renovations to meet code.

That could be the reason for not "connecting" the SEZ expansion to the existing structure. They can claim it is a complex holding over 100k, but the single building doesn't. IMHO.

based on the drawings posted in this thread my guess is 100,462. I guess they could shave a few hundred seats to get it back down to the 99,999.

Aren't both upper decks already freestanding?
