I would probably be too afraid to pull it on the boat because that thing doesn't look natural.

The eyes and swim bladder get bulged like that because they're caught very deep and dragged up very quickly. The pressure difference messes them up.

Nice fish and very good to eat. I caught many, but never even close to that monster. I had one rod/reel just for that with 300lb powerpro on it.

Well it WAS an entire ecosystem of marine life. From tropical coral to krill to reef fishes to predators. Now it's just scrap metal going to a scrap yard.

You sure that's a rig removal? We just shipped out a jacket to ST283 that looks about that size.

Also, from what I understand, when you hook one of them, you hold on tight and let the captain take you say from the rig ASAP. Fish dies and it's like reeling in a piece if plywood.

Correct to keep it from going in the rig and breakin you off in the structure, amongst other things.
