As long as democrats exist so will Joe's Crab Shack

That stereotype is absolutely true. I would say about 10% of the guests that come in my place are democrats. I did a special on crab legs and they were piling in the door. No problem with it but they really want their cheap seafood.

As long as new houses continue to become old houses there will be hardware stores. You can walk to a hardware store and hold up a screw, faucet part,or any other piece of hardware made in the last 100 years, and the person that greets you at the door will say "that is a xyz widget, how many do you need", and this will happen in a fraction of the time it takes to just locate someone that has a clue in the big box stores.

Good points. My g/f had a washer and dryer built in the 70s most likely and the dryer needed a new belt. Went the Ace and they could get it ordered next day for 5 bucks.

Rent-A-Centers Aaron's Basically any place that rents out furniture and TVs. Who would pay monthly rent on a TV? You would be surprised. There is a huge demand for this type of business in certain areas. It's the same reason most Pawn shops and cash checking businesses are successful.

Weebie is right. Add in the pay day loan places& tote the note car lots and you have what's available to people that have bad or no credit.

It's hard not being successful when you give a loan that' paid back with 30% interest, sell the same $1000 car to 10 different people for $500.00 down, etc. That's a whole different world than the one we live in but those people make a killing.

Absolutely this.

There is one here in Atlanta that I unfortunately had dinner at once. It sucked giant hairy sweaty fat man ball sack.

Literally the worst seafood I ever ate.

re: 3 Businesses that you have no idea how they're still in business.

-Picadilly - Casual dining restaurants like Chili's and Applebees seem to be eating them alive. I'm not sure why they seek out free standing locations no where near business centers. I can't think of any business that has made so many mistakes and still end up staying open.

-Don's seafood (Airline location) - They are open because they are popular...but the popularity is a mystery to me. I've been there three or four times and I thought the food was terrible. I haven't been in years so maybe they shut down. It seems silly to drive 20 minutes into the ghetto, fight for a parking space, and eat bad food. I've been too the locations in Lafayette, and found them to be only slightly better.

- Red Lobster in South Louisiana- Most casual seafood chains steer clear of south Louisiana. The local areas are well served by the home grown businesses, who usually serve better quality food for lower prices. Red Lobster is still scarce in south Louisiana, but they have had a location in New Orleans for a long time and have recently opened one in Baton Rouge. Are they even busy?

1)The golf course on Airline - do we have no zoning, eyesore

2)Raisin Cains- sending kids to early death, very unhealthy choice

3)Egg Role King on Sherwood- no one eats there and it's been open for 30 years, weird

I'm referring to the driving range where the cheap owner refuses to put a dime into that place. Sanford and his son wouldn't hit balls there.

It's because he doesn't own the land and it is eventually going to become part of the Long Farm development for apartments with a Rouses next door. That is the reason Plant Tech, which was next door moved to Old Jefferson.

Taco Bell (notorious for horse meat and sanitation issues, they even hand you their food in little bathroom garbage bags)

Antique Shops in Denham Springs (how do they pay the rent and still make enough profit to survive)

Sears
