Ideas for Part-time Work in BR

I need a few ideas for a good part time job in the BR area. I start at LSU next month and will be commuting from the Hammond area. I am somewhat familiar with BR, but can't think of any specific places to apply. It seems like part time work for a student around here means either a retail store or a restaurant... I'd like to do something a little different if possible. I have a BA in marketing already also, but just looking for pt work for the time being. Any ideas/suggestions? TIA

possibly an internship with your major? I'm sure already having a degree would look good.

That's what I was thinking, but from what I've heard the most I'd be able to do right now is get on a waiting list

I'm ME major, tried attending a career fair at LSU last semester to land some type of internship, but I called and they told me I couldn't attend since I wasn't yet a student at LSU. In hindsight, I should have just went anyways.

Well I worked at the UREC, and they are probably hiring intramural officials right now if you wanted to do something different.

You can apply for part time work at any of the public libraries in the parish. 10 or 20 hour work weeks, and usually they can work around your schedule. You will have to go to the EBR Human Resources Department on Florida to drop off an application and take a test. Starts off at $8.50/hour for page and aid; if you already have a Bachelor's degree it starts at $13.77/hour.
