Just got back from the games

My first national team supporter's cap.
Some notes and observations on the overall experience:
-The Hondurans are some dirty frickers and Jurgen shouldn't apologize for shite.
-6pm start time killed US support. I left my job in Addison(~25 miles from Jerry World) two hours before the game and didn't get to my seat til right before GAM's goal.
-Parking was horrific (who was the genius that scheduled the Rangers and Yankees next door at the same time)
-Saw more than a few fans wearing Mexican shirts, but draped in an American flag, or vice versa.
-Overall it was a pretty friendly atmosphere, until the end of the Panama/Mexico game.
-The stadium was full by the kickoff of the Mexico-Panama game (80% Mexico/20% everyone else)
-Sat next some cool Honduran and Panamanian fans. We bonded over our hatred of Mexico and we all went nuts when Panama scored the second goal. The poor Honduran fan next to me got hit with half a beer from the deck above.
-Remembered to bring the camera. Forgot to check the batteries. I'm dumb.
Overall it was a good experience, but I really want to make it to a game where we have a true "home field" advantage.

Sounds fun. I went to the semis in Houston last Gold Cup and I left the Mexico game when they started throwing cokes.

I was there too!...
...although I left before the Mexico game because I had to drive back to Austin.
-I didn't think Honduras was dirty as much as the ref chose not to call half of their fouls and the situation escalated.
-6 PM was early, but most of the Mexican fans tailgated for the whole first game too.
-It was a friendly atmosphere and very diverse (plenty of Hondurans too). I have never been to a game like that where you have three distinct fanbases. A college basketball regional is the only thing close.
-Why can't a $1.5B stadium buy quality sod?
-Bedoya was fantastic. He and Corona should both start the final w/ Torres off the bench and Shea not even in consideration.
-I concluded that all of the games where I thought Beckerman sucked involved a pairing with Jermaine Jones. He has been solid as the only DM on the field.
-LOL @ Mexico

go watch the replay of some of those challenges... like when the guy purposefully lowered his shoulder into Nick Rimando.

Rimando made it look much worse than it really was.

Still dirty, I'm glad he tried to draw attention to it
