Nothing better than the classic blues turnaround on the piano, and of course the rest of your faves.

I love guitar driven blues, so I am a fan of all three Kings, BB, Freddie, & Albert. I actually saw Freddie King in New Orleans around 1972 or '73 at City Park stadium. He was the opening act for the Allman Brothers. I like Luther Allison, Muddy Waters electric stuff from his Chicago period, Albert Collins, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, (I saw those last four in concert live), SRV, Lonnie Brooks, Joe Bonamassa, Lowell Fulson...guys like that.
I have records of a lot of old stuff by Muddy Waters (1930's era Plantation Recordings on acoustic), Robert Johnson (complete recordings) Son House, John Lee Hooker, Lightning Hopkins, Lead Belly, Howlin Wolf, etc.

I was at that show at City Park. From what I recall, I thought he was better than the Allmans that night.
Was lucky to have caught a SRV concert - he played on the President, the old riverboat in NO. Was a triple bill with SRV, Dr John and BB King. Around 1986, as part of the NO Jazz Fest weeknight concert series.

That is amazing, those three in one venue one night...
I like it all, I walked up and heard Little Freddie King playing at French Quarter Fest this year and thought he was great.

Here's some real history.
1927 - Dope Head Blues sung by Victoria Spivey in a Max Fleischer Betty Boop cartoon

Just give me one more sniff of, another sniff of that dope
Just give me one more sniff of, another sniff of that dope
I'll catch a cow like a cowboy, and throw a bull without a rope
Doggone, I've got more money than Henry Ford or John D. ever had
Doggone, got more money than Henry Ford or John D. ever had
I bit a dog last Monday and forty doggone dogs went mad
Feel like a fighting rooster, feel better than I ever felt
Feel like a fighting rooster, feel better than I ever felt
Got double pneumonia and still I think I got the best health
Say, Sam
Go get my airplane and drive it up to my door
Aw, Sam, go get my airplane and drive it to my door
I think I'll fly to London, these monkey men makes mama sore
The president sent for me, the Prince of Wales is on my trail
The president sent for me, the Prince of Wales is on my trail
They worry me so much, I'll take another sniff and put them both in jail

My new favorite is Joe Bonamassa with Beth Hart.
She is a combination of Etta James and Janis Joplin. Amazing.

Mannish Boy
From The Last Waltz
This got me into Muddy Waters and I've gotten into more guys since then.
Buddy Guy or Chuck Berry is probably my favorite.

Get to know him. He's a delta legend.
Except he's from the "hill country" region of Mississippi and not the delta. Two different distinct areas and style.
