White's gotta be one. One's gotta be a DE, maybe Bowers, Beckwith, or if they bump Herron or Lacoutre out there. Miles will not stop talking about Lacoutre but theres no way he plays over Freak or Ego at DT. He played a little DE in the spring game so who knows. The only place I could maybe see for the third freshman would be safety over Martin. I heard Miles talk about how excited he was for Brazil and Jefferson as DBs at SEC media days (along with White of course), so maybe thats the third? Just don't see a freshman playing in the LB corps with as many good ones as we have. ..... frick, the season needs to start

I'm a student and went to the open practice and there was something special about Jennings, you could just feel it. When he lets it go he can absolute spin it.
That was the general feeling at the spring game, too. It just really didn't seem like you were watching a guy who was playing HS ball just mere weeks prior. He's really a natural with tremendous athleticism and good decision-making abilities.

I don't get all the excitement when a coach says 3 freshmen will be starting. I love the fact that we have talented young guys coming in, but I love it more when they wait their turn behind equally talented guys with experience.

Been thinking that bout beckwith for awhile.

Tool,

For the above Beckwith is that good and they need to have him on the field. If he does not start he will be coming in early and often.

Why I think that about T Bower? Because many reports have him being unbelievably strong and flat out good. With his body size, he is SEC ready, and to add his strength, quickness, and ultra talent, he may be better than our projected starter as we speak. If he is play the man!!!

if Miles ever decides to retire he could easily pick up a position teaching 'language arts.'

Because when a coach decides to play a guy with no experience, over quality players with a year or 2 or 3 under their belt already, it normally only means one thing. The incoming freshman is a total badass... I see your point, it just gets me excited to think of how great these players could be in 3 years.

I thought I read he was closer to 252 and had gotten taller.

Be great if he got a bit taller to that 6-4" range at about 250-260, not losing his speed.

The 3 LB's you mention are my wish list to start if Beckwith is making that much of an impression

I think alot of fans overlook Jalen Collins. He had some typical RS Freshman moments, but seemed to get better as the year went on. I believe if any DB has a breakout season it will be him.
I think Mills is better suited for the slot, so if someone like White, Jefferson, or Brazil stepped in early I'm thinking it's for him.

Depending on injuries alot of things will change in the next month or so I'm sure.

don't think anyone outside of Austin called them that, but they think they're a great DB school because they had Aaron Ross and Nathan Vasher...yeah, I know...2 guys. But remember, even the slightest bit of success automatically means that Texas is the best at something (in their minds). It's laughable to hear any school from the Big XII in any way lauding its defensive prowess. It's practically a 7-on-7 league these days.

They actually had Kenny Vacaro go 1st rd this year and they have put alot of DB's in the NFl but they dont have more than LSU

Fun fact. UT was heavily after 5* Craig Loston and thought they had him in the bag. He chose LSU and UT settled for 3* safety Kenny Vacaro. If Craig lives up to expectations this year it will have worked out well for both schools.

I don't mean to spoil the party but I'm not sure how you compare this year's wr's to 2007's (byrd, lafell, doucet). Not even close.

Then who is dipshite?

I haven't looked at NFL stats but purely based on college performances, I think that title deserves to be split with at least one other SEC school. You are one of the greatest universities for defensive backs, but I'm not sure you are the best. Qualitatively, a tie sounds more reasonable.

They didn't. ThugU used to be DBU, but Miami has disappeared into irrelevance.
