I don't want something that's gonna be extremely dirty, however, I don't want to spend a ton of money on 1,000 rounds to throw at targets. Also, would like to know a decent plinking round for the wife's 38 special.

Ha. Point taken. Take the cheap part out of the equation. I just don't want to use high dollar self defense rounds to break in a new gun.

Arugila is ok if you don't mind cleaning your gun after every use.

For me, when shooting target rounds, I could not give less of a shite who makes it or how dirty it is. As long as it goes boom and my gun functions, I will shoot it all day long.

If you bought only self defense rounds to practice you would go broke very quickly.

The easiest to find are Winchester white box, Remington green box, Remington UMC, and Federal red box. All will work just fine. Just don't be cheap when buying hollow points for self defense.

Take the Delorian back in 2004 and buy ammo?

Just kindin, Tula BrassMaxx, Aguilla are the cheapest I have found lately. at about 39cpr

Get into reloading and save every piece of brass from this day forward. That's the only way you will be shooting 14cpr .45acp.

You must be shooting cast stuff. I don't think I've ever loaded 45 that cheap.

My stash looks about like that. I have so many random boxes from different manufacturers. I long for the days when I could buy the brands I prefer not the brands that are available for purchase.

I buy by the 1000 also.

I load mostly Berry's plated bullets so I don't get as much savings I guess. I like being able to shoot at indoor ranges even though I hate them.

RMR

Try those guys...I think when they have 45acp fmj's in stock quantities of 2000 go for about 13.8cpr.

The plating is pretty thick and I have be very pleased with the bullets. Very consistent.

eta: of course, call em on the phone and get 5000 at a time. save some cash.

Just received 500 plated from them to try out. You have any particular loads you like with them using Unique or Accurate No. 5?
