it's not really going to make him feel wanted (any possibly make it more likely he will transfer).

Do you honestly think that Rivers would read this message board and then base a decision on what to do with his football career based on what the fricking retards here think??

anyone else think it's unusual for Miles to say this?

he used to not say stuff like this.
My guess is that he's taken such a huge hit from the media and fans for all of the nothingburgers he's announced over the years, he may be learning to just let it flow.

I'm surprised he's admitting Mett is even the starter.

I mean playing time isn't the only factor here. Maybe Rivers just loves LSU and wants to say here even if he never starts a game.

THIS. I don't think Rivers is going anywhere. He has a lot of friends on the team and in BR and loves being a Tiger. Him transferring out isn't as clear cut as some believe.

Jarrett Lee didn't transfer out and he had way more reasons than Rivers

Jennings is going to be so good though. I can't fricking wait. I really think he will be our first superstar QB in a long time.

it's cool I was J/K. Fellow cycnic and pessimist here so I feel ya.

FWIW I think Jennings has awesomeness in him as well.

Cam Cameron has used mobile QB's during his whole career. Even in Baltimore he would use them in packages. Expect to see Jennings doing the same thing. The best part is that he's very accurate in 20-30 yard passes and that will keep the defense guessing instead of stacking the box and playing the option.

Pure speculation at this moment.

Lee was never QB3, Nor was he passed up by a true freshman.

I know, I know.

I really am not one of those people though. Rivers scared the shite outta me last year.

I like to think I'm somewhat level headed. This kid just has me pretty pumped. His accuracy, pocket awareness/mobility, and intelligence are the 3 things everyone always talks about. If I pick 3 things I want, its those 3.

I wanted Rohan back over Booty because I had common sense and I wanted Lee over JJ in the NC game because I saw the first half. I will admit those two.

Anyone have the whole QB pipeline situation in their gray matter that they could dump for us?

I'd like to see Rivers stay, just because I've seen in recent years an Andrew Hatch start for LSU. Not to mention a JJ. If injuries/defections/dismissals happen, we want to hold on to QB depth.

QBs...

Mett (Senior - "1 to play 1!")
Bolden (Junior - is he still here?) - not SEC calibur
Rivers (RS-Soph) - the man in question
Rettig (true FR) - got skillz
Jennings (true FR) - got mad skillz
Kragthorpe (RS-soph?) - walk-on; not SEC caliber

anyone else?

That leaves after this year Rivers (RS-Junior), Jennings (true soph), Rettig (RS-FR).

Who is on LSU's commitment list for 2014?

Brandon Harris, who is raw, but has unlimited potential. One of the best HS QBs in the country with offers from Ohio St, Auburn, etc.

Jefferson was a true freshman when he passed him. Lee was RS freshman

Technically JJ was a true freshman when he started over him in late 2008.

IDK about this. Nevertheless, he'll be used in scout team offense more than likely.

Brandon Harris. Like Jennings, he's a throw first dual threat. He's already recruiting for us and committed last week.

Ahh that's right. Wasn't Lee injured late in the '08?

I definitely hope Rivers doesn't transfer, as it's always nice to have depth and I would hate to put all of that pressure on two true freshmen QB's should Mett go down. But I also would understand if he did transfer.

Jennings as the back up QB does have me excited.

Rivers may have coaching aspirations...in this case, remaining with CCC is his best option - CLEARLY

What might happen is Rivers stays on this year to see how it plays out. During the year Jennings receives a lot more playing time and he sees the writing on the wall. He transfers and opens another spot up on the team for the best recruiting class in our program's history.
