Best way to make up ~$2500 to pay for 2nd to last semester

To make a really long story short, fee bills are due on the 8th, and my subsidized loan will pay for about half of it.

I don't make enough money to make up the other half before the 8th, so what's the best way for me to bridge the gap? The only thing I have worth selling is my truck, and it's not worth enough to make up the difference anyway.

I'm pretty much 100% clueless on what my options are. Can/should I take out a private loan? Get a credit card and put it on that and then pay what I can on it?

I plan on doing some research on this when I can tomorrow. I was expecting my current loan to cover the whole tuition as it has in the past, but a part time semester knocked out that option.

For $2,500? I wouldn't. A job could cover some of that. Of course, you don't have much time.

If you can qualify for one that will cover the 2,500 for say, 18 months, this isn't at terrible strategy. Just don't be a moron about it. You'd need to come up with $139 a month to pay it off without interest. Just don't use it again until you do.

You could.

If you can get a high enough limit, get a 0% card.

Also, check into a payment plan? Arkansas charges I think $30 to do one.

Another good idea.

I know if you get a hospital bill, they will set you up on a no interest payment plan that could last as long as two years. See if the school offers similar.

If you pay half, LSU does give an option for deferred payments, breaking up the charge over the course of the semester.

May impact all important FB eligibility, so ask that question.

I quit a high paying job for an internship that paid pennies but looks extremely good on my resume.

If the subsidized loan pays half does that count for deferment or a payment plan? I'll be working as much as I can just to make up the gas and lunch money and shite. I suppose one more bill won't kill me. I've already had to defer loan payments, might as well go ahead and defer everything I guess

Invest in a good, quality set of knee pads.

Gay porn pays pretty well, or so I hear.

Alternatively, make an appointment with one of the aid counselors, they probably know more about this subject than anyone here.

Going to try to do that today, but I won't be able to meet one unless I can do it on the phone. Cant miss work.

I think I'd rather sell both my kidneys than do gay porn

From what I'm seeing right now, LSUs only payment plan I'm seeing is 1/2 up front, and then 1/3 of the balance on the first of the next 3 months.

Puts me at ~ $700 a month

Debt is a bitch.

If LSU doesn't allow a decent payment plan, I'd go to the campus federal credit union (the one in the union) and see what kind of short term personal loans they offer for this sort of thing. I'm sure they deal with this all the time.

Good idea. Ill call them at lunch and see what they offer. Forgot that existed.

By the time I buy books and with how little ill be able to work the upcoming semester I don't think ill be able to swing the deferred payments along with other bills.

If all else fails I'll spring a private loan with a cosigner to help the interest.

Thanks for the help

Did you ask your employer if they have any help for school? Some do if they like you!

Yea. They have a program for it, but since I'm not considered a permanent employee I don't qualify.

No one's mentioned it yet, but Kudos to you for doing what ever you can for an education. A lot of people would have just said screw it by now.
