Guy I work with is taking his Harley from New Mexico to Tennessee and decided that Leesville is where he will spend the night in Louisiana. Any recommendations on places for him to grab some good food?

No, but I'm dying to find out why he chose Leesville. Until this thread, I'd never heard of it. Sounds like a nice place though.

first piece of advice, tell him not to stop in Leesville. seriously.
I did eat at a decent italian place about a year ago right on the main highway. the name escapes me. Again, it was decent at best. Leesville really is a s***hole and the food scene is no exception.

If you're looking for a fine dining experience in Leesville, you're SOL. But your best two options for food will be Booker-Lewis Hotel and Catfish Junction.

Wagonmaster isn't terrible. Best I can say about the place.

God, that's sad. He could've at least chosen Lafayette.

Believe it or not, there is a decent Thai restaurant in Leesville. Thadapetch, located at 1910 S 5th Street.
Seriously, its probably the tastiest food in Leesville.

Of all the places to Stop in LA and your friend decided on Leesville?
Some of the sketchy strip clubs probably have a buffet

I think I read about that place in someone's food blog. The guy in Lake Charles who posted on some other Nola boards. I think he was The Bear or something like that.

I ate at a Thai place there years ago that was actually pretty good. It's in the Day's Inn, if it's still there (probably been 5-6 years since I've passed through Leesville).
People who haven't heard of it should have. Home of Kevin Mawae, Cecil Collins, The Fuller brothers (Eddie and Vincent), and Nikita Wilson.
Edit: I notice somebody beat me to it. As to why there's a Thai restaurant in this one-horse town, evidently the army base has something to do with it. There's a small asian population there, maybe because a lot of these soldiers spend time in the far east before winding up at Fort Polk and come home with asian wives. Whatever, the case, I notice some asian businesses and churches whenever I pass through.

If he's going through there, I would probably drive the 30 minutes down the road to Deridder rather than stay in Leesville.

Of all places to stop... Sorry I have eaten fast food and a sandwich shop that is open only for lunch. I wish him the best...
ETA, just noticed this was a bumped thread...
