Not Exactly Breaking News: Stadium Sound System

they're testing it right now and, hearing it from the clock tower, it sounds crystal clear. seriously, they played norah jones and skrillex and both sounded great, even though i was really far away when they were played. it'll be a nice improvement this fall.

I saw LSU posted a video testing the system to Instagram, but I can't stand Instagram.

It'll never be ready in time.

I walked by the stadium from class around 2:30 and it was very loud and sounded great. The bass was slamming pretty hard as well with just country playing.

Just left the library. The music was shaking the windows.

Really?! Isn't half the joy in canned stadium music a crappy sound system? The LSU hip hop song won't produce the needed mood shift without that grating edgy sound.
Besides, all they need it for are like four songs - callin' BR, Ozzie, Jump around, and lsu hip hop.

Dear Harry,
I understand the consternation you felt as a result of my listing a couple of the artists played over the sound system since they may seem "uncool" to you, so allow me to allay your fears in the hopes that you will no longer feel that you have to express yourself by saying FYL for the sake of voicing disapproval with the song selection I overheard.
You see, when installing and testing out a new sound system, especially one as significant as in Tiger Stadium, it is important for the sound engineers charged with calibrating it to play a wide range of audio in order to properly test the levels of the treble, mid-range, and bass. In the case of Skrillex, it may be a largely unliked genre and artist, but the audio quality of the "music" is dynamic, which can go a long way in determining the sound system's capabilities. Norah Jones, on the other hand, gives the sound engineers the opportunity to determine the clarity of the system in that her music features a clear voice against the backdrop of other musical instruments so that they can judge whether the system can adequately feature the enunciation of her singing, which directly relates to the how well in-game announcers' speech can be understood by we fans and ticket holders.
I assure you that those two artists do not accurately reflect my personal musical preferences, nor do they indicate what we can expect to hear "piped in," as they say, during gameday.
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to leave me a comment and I'll be sure to check back in with you.
Regards,
DontCare
