From WWL:

Where is NOPD on this?

I doubt this has anything to do with a summer camp. She probably lives in the area and was out by herself/with friends.

Are you agreeing with me?

All I'm saying is that, there are summer camps going on. She's a student. Maybe she's a camper as well.

The parents probably contacted the school to send out an email because they might not have all of the contact information for their daughter's circle of friends, or classmates with whom she communicates.

With a juvenile, I wouldn't think so. What is the procedure for an Amber Alert?

She does live right near the park on Pine St...towards the north side of the park

Generally with adults it's 24 hours. With individuals under the age of 18, immediate reporting is acceptable.

I think the parents did the right thing and reported her missing.

Even if she's not, the kid is 14. If she's found ok, having had spent the night at a friends' or whatnot, I wouldn't be mad or upset. The parents are obviously worried though.

I'm sure that's why they went to McGehee to send out the initial alert to all their contacts. The media picked up on it a few minutes after the email went out.

I don't know what this hell ask.fm is but I think this is her and it's really sad. I hate the internet sometimes. Kids are cruel. I hope she didn't hurt herself.

Audubon is packed during the day, if someone tried to kidnap her I can't imagine noone would notice.

Maybe, but remember the instance of the young girl whose kidnapping was thwarted by two young men on bikes?

That was during the day if I recall correctly.

ETA: Yeah, in Pennsylvania.

That was my first thought. This should have been reported by the police to all of the news station the second they heard about this.

That's messed up.

Young girls can really be mean to each other. It's astounding the amount of bullying that goes on these days.
