I own a small business and just joined a deer lease as an individual. I am about to buy a new 4x6 tower blind and high end feeder. I will possibly take a few of my customers on occasion. Should I buy the above items through my business and use them as a tax write off?

TIA,

Sull

If you're CPA will deduct in, sure.

Edit: Actually, they are not deductible, but people run them through pretty routinely. I'd consider the dues "less risky" than the stand/equipment.

Also, on the equipment, it for sure depends (the RISK depends) on the type of business youre in. If a landman buys a fourwheeler, he's safer than a lingerie shop buying a fourwheeler.

Place your business label on the tower blind and write it off as a advertising expense for small billboard...

What kind of business do you have?

T&E write offs are not as easy as they used to be

I used to have my business and I would just write off immediate expenses instead of capital improvements. Such as would "report" I was taking clients every weekend and write off gas, groceries, corn, etc.
