When visiting San Francisco last month, it was clear which breweries and bars were on my to-do list (many great posts by Dean leading the way), but the LA area has been a hit tougher to research. Any suggestions on bars with a good selection of local brews, with a bonus for dive bars and/or places with good food. Also interested in making some breweries over the weekend, if I don't have to venture more than a couple of hours. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for a good list Zappa. I really like the beer I've had from The Bruery, don't think I knew it was so close. I'm staying in Redondo Beach, but after living in Houston for 5 years, I'm generally game for driving an hour or more to get to good good or beverages.
