Me and the Fiance went out to Mr. Murray Crowes and he wheeled out his Cannon. Weighed out some loads for it and we fired a few rounds down range. Was pretty freaking awesome. Some of yall might have seen them use this cannon and shoot the Yeti Cooler with it on the TP Outdoors show.

1826 Mountain Rifle

The projectile we fired. Was the shape of a big arse Pellet for a pellet rifle. The one on the right side is one of the pellets after they shot a Yeti Cooler with it.

Pellet after we dug it out of the mound. Some of the sign we were aiming at was melted on to it.

And the video of me shooting it.
1826 Mountain Rifle

Another short video showing actually where it hit. We had put this sign out in front of the mound of dirt so we could have something to aim at. Was around 140 yard shot. The guy in the video saying it shot a little high actually just saw the dirt fly into the air when it hit. This video actually shows the hole in the sign. I almost hit dead center of that sign.

No not me and even tho I hate that show that's about the way I felt.

I hope it isn't the only time in my lifetime I get to fire one but it prolly is.

You cant see it too good but if you see the mound of dirt after it fires you can see the dirt go flying in the air when the round hits.

Would be fun as hell to set that up next to a feeder with some canister and a remote firing system for hogs.

We only fired it twice. He had used it a week or so ago in a competition and only had those two molded rounds left to fire.

No joke, and he does have some big arse shot that he can fire in it instead of the pellet. I didn't get to see the shot, he was just telling us about it. Sounded like it could put the hurt on a herd of hogs.

This is the man that owns/invented Mojo duck decoys and all the other Mojo decoy stuff so he could definitely come up with a trigger mechanism.

When you shoot cannister the standard size was 69 cal round balls. I was a member of a gun crew last year at the "Live Shoot" competition at Ft Sill, OK. Awesome to work the gun at that event.(we came in 2nd losing by 1 point).

Just to brag a little, I am one of the owners of a 10lb Parrot Rifle(full-scale reproduction). It is what little mountain rifles hope to be when they grow up!!! Cool video and experience.

I "made" a cannon a couple years ago at the camp. At a distance say 25yds and out it looks real.

I aint gonna lie, I had to google. I know nothing about cannons. I would like to have one after shooting that one this weekend but they are way too pricey of a toy I am sure.

They are pricey. Got together with seven friends who like to play artillery and bought our gun from a guy up in Georgia. Gun, limber, and trailer was $14000.00 Good price relatively speaking. We do school programs so we got a tax deduction.

By the way Teyger, fine looking piece. Your friend has a good one. Does he do re-enactments?

Not that I know of. The man that built it for him built it to exactly match the originals.
