Movie/TV Board's thoughts on Monsters(2010)

Never heard of this movie until yesterday, when I came across it searching for Monsters Inc. for my kids on iTunes. The theme of the movie seems interesting, and it has received pretty good reviews on IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes & Metacritic.
Very low budget film, only 500K according to Wikipedia. For those who have seen it, what are your thoughts? I'm a fan of low budget Sci-Fi films, such as The Man from Earth & Lunopolis , and this one looks like it could be another gem, IMO.

it's decent. you can tell it's a movie with a better foundational concept than story/ending

I didn't care for it to be honest. I was disappointed at the ending
