Too integral to the show at this point to kill him off. He's also Mcfarlanes soap box to get his political leanings out there. And I doubt they would want to get rid of the Stewie and Brian relationship which is the best part of the show.
Meg on the other hand has gotten less and less attention due to Mila Kunis having a ton of other things to do. Meg gon die.

In the article about the Simpson's crossover episode (which will air in 2014, the Family Guy death takes place this fall), every Griffin family member was mentioned as being paired with a Simpson counterpart in a sub plot except for Chris.
