What are some characters from television that said things that resonated with you. It can be anything that was spoken by a real person but didnt mean anything until they said it.

Jerry Seinfeld: "the best revenge is living well"

And George Bluth's great legal advice from Barry Zuckerkorn" Micheal, they can't convictt a husband and wife for the same crime."

Any other words of wisdom from your favorite characters from the talking picture box?

I think George Herbert beat Jerry to the punch with that quote by about 400 years.

Jerry Seinfeld: "the best revenge is living well"
This was the favorite saying of Gerald and Sara Murphy, American expatriates living in France during the roaring 20's; they were close friends of Fitzgerald, who based the main characters in Tender Is The Night on them. They also appear in the Cole Porter biopic De-Lovely.

The phrase itself is said to be an old Spanish proverb

And to think Seinfeld bitches about people stealing material...

I don't think you get it.

I didn't hear it until Jerry said it, but thanks for telling me where it came from, I didn't know.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. 14 per cent of people know that

Dr. Cox's viewpoint on marriage:

Dr. Cox: ...And bam! The shine's off the apple. And that's when you find out that that pretty little girl you married isn't a pretty little girl at all. No, she's a man-eater. And I'm not talking about the "whoa-whoa, here she comes" kind of man-eater. I'm talking about the kind that uses your dignity as a dishtowel to wipe up any shreds of manhood that might be stuck inside the sink. Of course, I may have tormented her from time to time; but, honest to God, that's what I thought marriage was all about. So much so that, by the end of that relationship, I honestly don't know who I hated more - her or me? I used to sit around and wonder... why our friends weren't trying to destroy each other, like we were. And here, it turns out, the answer's pretty simple: They weren't unhappy. We were.
