I've always enjoyed Florida, so I would vote yes. Lots of energy at the Florida games (home and away).

3) 20% of Florida fans that attend their games don't wear shirts.

12 years between trips to the opponents stadium is just dumb.

And if we are doing the normal home and home, we have 10 years between playing each team from the other division?

Where's the sense in that?

If we went to a 9 game conference schedule I would be fine with 1 permanent opponent. But it makes no sense with an 8 game schedule.

Yep. I've been to Gainesville 3 times and every time I ask myself why I go back that shithole. The people are just awful. The tailgate scene is a joke. We saw a UF man laying on the ground outside his tailgate 10 feet from the sidewalk holding a fake penis in his hand. The jorts are not a stereotype, it actually is true. And their stadium is hot as balls.

+1

It's entirely too long of a drive for most fans and it isn't a very pleasant environment. I would much rather make a trip to Athens every year than Gainesville.

Also, if I was player in the SEC I would be pissed that I didn't get the chance to play every team in my conference at least one time during my college years.

I think this is as realistic and as logical an argument as anyone can make for an alternating schedule of some kind.

I like playing Florida every year. I think it's a good recruiting tool to get Florida kids. If it wasn't for that, no not every year.

I like UF every year. To be the best you should have to beat the best.

No offense, but this statement is inaccurate in college football.

It should read "To be the best, you have to finish first."

There are plenty of MNC's won on the concept of avoiding the best like the plague.

Edit: I didn't notice you said "should" have to beat the best. In that case I agree with you!

Absolutely love the Florida game. The fact is, it gives our divisional opponents an advantage if we have to play a consistently tough Florida team every year while they play a consistently downtrodden, say, Tennessee.
