Fri: a hit and a miss

Bought a house yesterday. To celebrate, had lunch at Maurepas. Simply great. Had grilled amberjack with watermelon, grilled halloumi and mint. Fiance had grilled shrimp with a side of grits. She liked hers - didn't get a chance to taste out of fear that she would stab me with her fork. Had a Pimms Cup and she had a concoction made with tequila and fresh thyme (called a hot, cool and vicious).
After packing for the rest of the evening, made a jaunt to Freret and went to Midway, since she wanted deep dish. It was meh. Not really deep dish, just a slightly thicker than normal pizza. Was tasteless for the most part. Tried to talk her into staying in the 'hood and hitting Pizza Delicious or Sugar Park, but she wanted to stretch out of our normal haunts. My guess is we won't be returning there anytime soon.
