I want push, not self propelled and I'm looking for a solid little mower that will last.

I like Husqvarna and Honda, but I'm around the $300 price range.

What other push mowers are reliable?
Toro?
Craftsman?

Thanks

Don't get a Craftsman. Worst mower I have ever owned.

Really good brand. If you could get one at the right price then I would do it.

Self-propelled

Push

I have a Toro that I bought about 6 years ago. I rarely use it now, but when I do, it cranks up on the first pull. Been very reliable fwiw.

You can get a craftsman with a Honda engine for $300 at Sears. Self prop too.

The OP wants to actually have to push his mower accross the yard instead of it pulling him.

Weird. I guess I'm just lazy. I own 2 riding mowers in case one breaks.

Yeah I don't understand why they even make push mowers anymore. The most basic models should be self-prop at the least.

I got a yardmachine for $125 and its on its 3rd mowing season without the first lick of maintenance.

I figure for $125 if it last me a few years ill just can it and buy another.

so far it hasn't let me down.

I have a Toro self-propelled. It starts the first time, every time. I have no complaints and would recommend it to anyone, even if they don't want a self-propelled mower. You do not have to use that option. I won't own another manual mower.

Bought my Toro in 2003. Still cranks first pull every time. Get the big rear wheels for smoother cut.

Just get the cheapest thing at Wally World or Amazon.com.

They'll all last 5 years without a lick of maintenance. Take care of it and it'll last 10+ yrs no sweat.

My neighbor and I both got Toro self-propelled mowers five years ago. Last year we each had the transmissions go out and had to replace the gears in the rear wheels. They did start right away, but a mower should last longer than five years.
